Food and drink

eggsFood is a special enjoyment of any holiday, and I hope to add to your experience by providing delicious homemade, home grown or locally sourced food wherever possible. Please find below details of the food and drink you can enjoy on-site during your stay. Most dietary requirements can be catered for - please mention when booking. If you have any serious allergies please contact me in advance to discuss your needs.

For other food available locally, as well as cafés, pubs and other local places to eat out, please see Local amenities and cafés and farmshops. For more formal dining or a special occasion, The Bildeston Crown (7 minutes’ drive), The Great House and The Swan in Lavenham (15 minutes) and The Leaping Hare restaurant at Wyken Vineyards (30 minutes) are just a few suggestions.

On arrival

You will be greeted by tea, coffee, homemade elderflower cordial and cake or biscuits, to enjoy by the fire or in the garden (when it’s warm enough!). A range of tea and coffee including ground coffee for the cafetiere and seasonal fresh garden herbs for tea are provided in the sitting room, along with a kettle, toaster, fridge with freezer compartment (and ice tray), microwave with grill, crockery and cutlery.

Breakfast

My chickens and I aim to provide the best breakfast in Suffolk! A full English and continental breakfast is served in your private breakfast/sitting room at a time of your choosing between 7am and 11am, and includes freshly-squeezed orange juice and local apple juice, a selection of cereals, fresh, dried and stewed fruit, yoghurt, homemade sourdough bread and other bread from an award-winning local bakery, homemade jam and local honey. Wherever possible, food is homemade, home grown or locally sourced. All sausages and bacon are locally sourced (from Maypole Pork) and free range, and eggs are kindly provided by my beautiful chickens who you will meet enjoying themselves in the garden - you can even choose what colour eggs you want!
